The quick answer

The August layout update adds Multiplayer → Spawn Settings, with patterns, anchors and individually disabled slots. F6 previews the current slots while you are in a lobby.[1]

Understand the distinction

The developer also describes swapping cats by dragging, snapping them into slots and recalculating a layout. Cats placed outside the chosen pattern remain where they were, so recalculating is not a complete screen reset.[1]

Suggested checklist

  1. Choose a pattern and position its anchor away from important desktop controls.[1]
  2. Disable slots that would cover a work area, then preview the arrangement with F6.[1]
  3. Use Recalculate after changing the layout and inspect any manually placed cats separately.[1]

Limits and next steps

These controls are documented in the 10 August 2026 post; wording may change in later UI updates.[1]

Continue with Bongo Cat friends: patting, emotes and random cosmetics.
